About Naiwa: Merge & Squeeze

Naiwa: Merge & Squeeze is a JoyArc game featuring round yellow-bellied frogs with green eyes. In Merge mode, aim a drop into the container and let two frogs of the same tier collide to create the next larger tier. The ten-tier gallery ends with Cosmic Belly Sovereign; the top tier does not merge further.

Matching collisions earn points, but larger frogs also take more room. Frogs that remain above the danger line build an overload timer toward 3.5 seconds, ending the round. Newly spawned frogs have a short grace period; creating the final tier celebrates the merge but does not end the round with a separate victory screen.

Each Merge round provides two Belly Quakes, one Belly Blast and one free revive. A blast removes up to three highest frogs. The revive clears the top and shakes the pile without an ad requirement. Squeeze mode instead lets you tap and stretch one frog, with a temporary combo counter and no win or loss.

The game starts in Chinese unless this browser has a saved English preference. The globe button changes the main labels and gallery cards in place without resetting the current round, but some danger, combo and static text remains Chinese. Local storage remembers the best Merge score, language and mute preference only: the active board, score, tool charges and Squeeze combo are not restored after a reload, and there is no cloud sync.

Key Features & Highlights

Ten matching tiers

Same-tier collisions create larger frogs and award the new tier's score. The largest tier is a ceiling, not the start of another evolution chain.

An overloaded-container challenge

Manage the pile below the danger line; sustained danger can end a round even after a high-tier frog has been created.

Limited rescue tools

Each round starts with two quakes, one top-clearing blast and one free revive. Restarting replenishes those round-specific uses.

A separate squeeze toy

Tap for a slap animation and short-lived combo, or drag to stretch the belly. This mode has no losing condition.

Remembered preferences, not a saved board

The main interface can switch between Chinese and English, and language, mute and best score persist locally when storage is available. English translation is partial.

How to Play - Rules & Objectives

  1. 1Choose the Merge tab. If needed, press the globe button to switch the main interface from Chinese to English.
  2. 2Move the pointer or drag across the canvas to aim, then release to drop. On a keyboard, use Left and Right arrows to aim and Space to drop.
  3. 3Guide matching tiers into contact and watch the next-frog preview before choosing another drop. Allow the short drop cooldown and the pile's movement to settle.
  4. 4Keep the pile below the danger line. Use a Belly Quake to disturb the pile or a Belly Blast to remove up to three highest frogs; their uses are limited per round.
  5. 5After overload, take the single free revive or restart the round. The revive is not unlimited and restarting clears the active board.
  6. 6Choose the Squeeze tab to tap or drag the toy frog, or press Space to slap its belly. Switching tabs or language does not reset the in-memory Merge board, but reloading the page does.

Pro Tips & High-Score Strategies

  • Plan for both the current frog and the next preview. A large new merge can leave less space even as your score rises.
  • Do not treat the quake as a guaranteed rescue: it applies forces to the pile and can move frogs upward as well as toward a match.
  • Save the blast for a crowded top. It targets the three highest frogs, not a frog selected with the pointer.
  • Pause for a short break instead of refreshing if you want to keep the current round. Local saving protects the best score and preferences, not the pile.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

It changes the main Chinese/English labels and gallery cards in place without restarting the current round, and remembers the language locally. Translation is partial: the danger warning, combo text and some static descriptions or button titles remain Chinese.
